“BOZ”
Danny is a professional photographer that moonlights as a CrossFit coach, or maybe the other way around, it’s an equal passion. He’s a voracious student of mobility, movement, methods & the transverse properties that CrossFit has with real life. He’s entering his 5th year as a CrossFit Coach with plans to further his education as much as possible in the future.
What’s your favorite workout?
That’s a hard question. Anything with a heavy power clean perks my ears up, but due to my schedule being a bit more varied than the average persons; I work out alone often. So the honest answer is any time I can get in with a group of guys, blast some music and get after it, is my favorite workout. If you put the screws to me and made me choose, The Hero workout, “Murph” gives me butterflies when it’s brought up in conversation.
When you’re not CrossFit-ting, you’re…
Taking photos consumes the majority of my free time, but I do have a number of other activities I enjoy. I love to take our dogs for long walks with my wife on the beach (I just realized how cliché that sounds). I’ve traveled all over the world to surf and while life has taken over and my adventures to third world countries in search of waves have become fewer and further between, I still try to get out as much as possible. Lately Jiu-Jitsu has taken hold of my free time and has become a new love.
Advice for someone starting or wanting to start CrossFit
Just pull the trigger and go for it. You don’t need to “get in shape first”, I promise you that no amount of time on the treadmill will prepare you for this. It’s just different. The worst that can happen is that you hate it and never come back. The best that could happen is that you earn a broad, general, physical fitness and it changes your life forever.
