Jenni was introduced to CrossFit by a business colleague. An avid runner, Jenni assumed she was “in shape” when walking through the doors of the box for her first WOD. It didn’t take more than a 15-minute AMRAP to realize, after being smoked by a fellow athlete more than ten years her senior, that she wasn’t as “fit” as she thought. This first workout ignited her passion for CrossFit and sparked her competitive spirit to reveal itself. After passing the requirement to become a certified Level 1 CrossFit coach, she discovered a new love for inspiring others to step outside their comfort zones to find the true strength that lives within them.
What’s your favorite workout?
I am partial to any HERO WOD. Before coaching or participating in a HERO WOD we have the opportunity to reflect on the soldier the workout is named in honor of. I tell my athletes that when they hit that redline moment in the workout, when they don’t think they have one more rep in them, when they can’t catch their breath, think about the ultimate sacrifice that soldier made for our freedom and they WILL find the power to dig deep and finish the workout strong.
When you’re not CrossFit-ting, you’re…
Running a Public Relations & Marketing business and spending time with my VERY active boys, Stephen and Nicolas. In addition to making straight A’s in school (momma’s proud), they play travel soccer, baseball and lacrosse and keep me on my toes. CrossFit has allowed me to show a side of myself to my boys that I never knew I had. Having a strong mom is actually cool for a middle schooler. Stephen can’t wait to dig in with me!
